• Royce Keys Defeated Former Champion Last Night
While Royce Keys hasn’t made a televised appearance since his WWE debut during the Men’s Royal Rumble 2026 match, he has competed in some pre-show matches. Keys has been wrestling in dark (untelevised) matches before WWE TV shows in recent weeks. Before last night’s SmackDown, he defeated former AAA World Tag Team Champion Berto. Below are the results of his dark matches so far:
February 13: Royce Keys def. Nathan Frazer
February 20: Royce Keys def. Chris Sabin
February 27: Royce Keys def. Alex Shelley
March 6: Royce Keys def. Rey Fenix
March 13: Royce Keys def. Rey Fenix
March 20: Royce Keys def. Berto
March 23: Royce Keys def. Rayo Americano
April 3: Royce Keys def. Berto
PWInsider previously reported that Royce is currently getting used to how WWE production works. The source noted that his absence from TV should not be viewed as anything unusual, as most new signings go through a similar adjustment period before being regularly featured on programming.
Self Made Pro recently reported that WWE has finalized a plan for the start of Keys’ official main roster run. However, it is not yet known when he will return to the screen or what the specifics of his debut will be.
• WrestleMania 42 Competitor Undergoing Rehab Before Title Match
The Bella Twins faced Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on last week’s episode of SmackDown, where Nikki Bella appeared to suffer an injury during the match. Nikki rolled her left ankle during an exchange with Charlotte, and was seen visibly limping as the match continued. By the end, WWE medical staff checked on her at ringside.
On last night’s SmackDown, it was announced that Nikki is undergoing rehab. Multiple sources have reported that Nikki will be cleared to compete in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42.
WWE showed the following photo of how Nikki rolled her ankle:

• New World Champion Crowned In NJPW, Shinsuke Nakamura’s Youngest Champion Record Broken (Photos)
History was made at NJPW Sakura Genesis 2026 as Callum Newman shocked the world to become the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion. At just 23 years and 7 months old, Newman is now the youngest person to ever hold the title, breaking a record that was held by Shinsuke Nakamura since 2003.
The main event saw Newman face off against the champion, Yota Tsuji. Newman didn’t come alone; the entire United Empire faction (including AEW star Will Ospreay) walked him to the ring.
The match had a major turning point when Newman tried to use a steel chair. In a surprising moment, Ospreay actually stopped him from using the weapon. Instead, Newman relied on his own skill, hitting a massive Hidden Blade. Newman pinned Tsuji and became the new champion.

After the match, Ospreay placed the championship around Newman’s waist in an emotional celebration.

The new champion won’t have much time to rest, though. Shingo Takagi immediately came to the ring to challenge him, making it clear that Newman already has a target on his back for his first title defense.
