WWE SummerSlam 2023 will take place at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan (the site of WrestleMania 23 in 2007) on August 5th.
According to Xero News, the following matches are currently planned for SummerSlam 2023:
– Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes III
– Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch
– Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa)
Ciampa has been off WWE TV for a while now due to injury. Gargano has teased in interviews that he’ll team up with his former tag team partner Ciampa again once he returns.
No word on if Owens & Zayn will remain Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions heading into SummerSlam. They will defend the Titles against Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa at Night Of Champions on May 27th.
There’s a rumor going on that WWE is planning to do a rematch between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of SummerSlam 2023, even when they are on different brands.
Xero News also confirmed that this is not the case. The Tribal Chief will be defending the Undisputed Title at SummerSlam, but it won’t be against The American Nightmare.
