During a recent WWE Live Event, The Big Show revealed to some people that Rusev is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery soon.
The Big Show defeated Rusev at FastLane 2017 by delivering 3 chokeslams and a knockout punch. The reason why the alliance between Rusev & Jinder Mahal came to an abrupt end had to do with Rusev’s injury.
This is the reason why Rusev noted on Twitter that he’s going to be taking time off from working out:

With this shoulder injury, Rusev is expected to miss WrestleMania 33.
