• Samantha Irvin Reveals 2-Year Non-Compete After WWE Exit, Mercedes Moné Offers Legal Help
It has been a year since former WWE Ring Announcer Samantha Irvin parted ways with the company.
A fan on X reflected on her departure, writing:
“I can’t believe it’s been one year since @SamanthaTheBomb left WWE. While I have a lot of memories of her time there I am more proud to be a fan of hers now. I can’t get enough of her music and just so happy that she’s doing great things outside of wrestling. And when that day comes when she back in wrestling I will be cheering her on with whatever she doing.”
Samantha responded to the post and revealed that she’s still under a two-year non-compete clause, meaning she cannot sign with another pro wrestling company for one more year.
“One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Can’t wait I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories as fondly as I do! Love & miss you all and remember- I NEVER left FOR music, I am music. Hope to see you soon…..”
Following her post, AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné offered help against WWE: “I know several attorneys”
Samantha replied: “thank you, my girl”
Her husband, AEW heel wrestler Ricochet, joked about the situation on X. He tweeted:
“She’s got one year left before I decide where she can work. Or I might decide that she has to stay at home, again. Either way it’s my decision where she goes. Not hers. #Ahaaaa”
• SmackDown Wrestler Is Switching Brands, Set To Return Next Week
Santos Escobar’s WWE contract expired earlier this month, leading to speculation that he might leave the company. However, that did not happen, as the former Cruiserweight Champion ultimately reached a new agreement with WWE after receiving an improved offer from the Stamford-based promotion.
According to PWInsider, Escobar is currently scheduled to appear on next Monday’s episode of RAW in Anaheim, California.
This appearance suggests that Escobar will be moving from SmackDown to RAW, as he was part of the blue brand before his contract expired. His last match on WWE television was against Rey Fenix on SmackDown in May, which he lost.
