Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Samantha Irvin.

• Samantha Irvin surprised fans with her announcement that she was leaving WWE, which led to various theories, including speculation about a potential move to AEW. Although Ricochet shut down that rumor, fans still had plenty to say on the subject. Now, free from WWE’s oversight, Samantha Irvin can respond to tweets openly—a freedom she apparently didn’t have under her WWE contract.

In her farewell message, Samantha Irvin wrote, “WWE Universe, my time has come to an end as your Monday Night RAW Ring Announcer. I love you all tremendously and this does not mark the end of my art—I have a lifetime more to share.” This statement quickly sparked even more speculation, as fans shared their thoughts and theories about her departure.

Reactions came from all over the wrestling community, with Ricochet stepping in to defend against those who blame him for Irvin’s WWE exit. Despite this, fans continued to fuel the conversation with their own theories, further adding to the rumors swirling around the situation.

One fan tweeted, “the way people been talking about Ricochet since he left WWE is f**king weird man,” which received a few replies agreeing with the sentiment. Another fan responded, saying, “His replies to his posts are concerning.”

Although Irvin wasn’t tagged in these tweets, she noticed them and decided to clarify a bit about her time with WWE. She explained that, as part of WWE, she wasn’t allowed to respond to fans in this way, saying, “Actually we just aren’t allowed to respond. No matter what people say, any response looks bad.”

• As we noted earlier, former WWE Ring Announcer Samantha Irvin revealed that she didn’t like announcing in WWE and actually wanted to manage wrestlers or be the General Manager of one of the brands.

She received a lot of heat for these comments. This resulted in Samantha posting the following on X:

“I don’t take any of it for granted. It was the best time, I’m just not an announcer. I’m an actress. And the only reason I had to let people know I left because I don’t enjoy the act of announcing, is because of the wave of hate that has come to myself and my husband.

The constant comparisons and the assumption that I would leave announcing at WWE to announce somewhere else. I’m a stage performer. I enjoyed playing the role until it wasn’t acting anymore and until I realized there was no character work for me at WWE. I poured my love for wrestling into it. Doesn’t mean I consider myself a true announcer. I’m a performer.

I nuked it because people think it says ‘ring announcer’ on my birth certificate.

I am obsessed with wrestling and I’m a perfectionist. I’m a performer, I’m a vocalist. I wanted to show I had a mind for wrestling. It backfired. I had other goals in wrestling. I have no outside projects. Now I’m just gonna be at home with my daughter.

Hate is a strong word. I loved working at WWE. Thank you so much!”
