This was Breakker’s first title win on the WWE main roster. Breakker won by delivering 2 vicious spears to Zayn in the end.
According to Fightful Select, time was cut from this match for unknown reason, as the original plan was for this match to be 10 minutes long.
Breakker’s father and uncle, Rick and Scott Steiner, and his girlfriend, NXT wrestler Izzi Dame, were in attendance to see his title victory.

• Roman Reigns was absent from WWE programming since losing the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, but he made a surprising comeback at the end of SummerSlam. Meanwhile, Damian Priest also had a notable match for the World Title at SummerSlam, which ended in a major betrayal, revealing the current internal status of both WWE Superstars.
At SummerSlam, Gunther faced Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. Finn Balor’s interference ultimately led to Priest’s defeat, crowning Gunther as the new top champion of the red brand.
