• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (July 12, 1992) – WCW The Great American Bash 1992
On this day in Pro Wrestling history on July 12, 1992, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW The Great American Bash 1992’ LIVE on PPV from the Albany Civic Center in Albany, Georgia.
This was the 8th edition of WCW’s annual The Great American Bash events, although the 1986 & 1987 Great American Bash events were actually tours of several shows with the best matches making it to the VHS’, that made them being presented like 1 big event in both years, eventho they weren’t.
There was no Great American Bash in 1993 & 1994, but after WCW was sold to the World Wrestling Federation in 2001, Vince McMahon brought the pay-per-view back in 2004 under the WWE banner.
The 1992 Bash featured a tournament for the NWA World Tag Team Championship.

– Quarter-final: Hiroshi Hase & Shinya Hashimoto defeated The Fabulous Freebirds

– Semi-final: Terry Gordy & Steve Williams defeated Nikita Koloff & Ricky Steamboat
– Semi-final: Dustin Rhodes & Barry Windham defeated Hiroshi Hase & Shinya Hashimoto
– WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Big Van Vader defeated Sting (c)
– Final: Terry Gordy & Steve Williams defeated Dustin Rhodes & Barry Windham
• Sami Zayn Reacts To Vince McMahon Wishing Brock Lesnar Happy Birthday, But Not Him
Mr. Money In The Bank 2019 Brock Lesnar celebrated his 42nd birthday today and Sami Zayn celebrated his 35th birthday today.
However, Vince McMahon only wished Lesnar on Twitter (as he only does that for the top stars):
