The wrestling world is abuzz following Saraya’s announcement that her time with AEW has come to an end. This news has immediately ignited speculation among fans, with many dreaming of a potential comeback to WWE, the company where she first rose to prominence as Paige. However, those hoping for an imminent return might need to temper their expectations, as Saraya herself has addressed the swirling rumors.

In a recent interview with WrestleZone, Saraya directly tackled the possibility of a WWE return after her AEW exit. While she didn’t completely shut the door on the future, she made it clear that a deal isn’t in the works at this moment. “People think I’m going back to WWE or whatever, because there’s this huge rumor mill happening right now,” she stated. “But I haven’t spoken to them. At least not right now, I haven’t spoken to them.”

Saraya also emphasized that her current focus lies on solidifying her various business ventures under her real name. “That’s something that with this year, I kind of want to get all my business and stuff, deals out the way, like under my name and all that kind of stuff,” she explained.

Interestingly, Saraya believes that WWE’s current landscape might be more conducive to accommodating her outside interests should she ever decide to return. “I’m also focusing on my podcast, acting, all that kind of fun stuff too. I wouldn’t want it to affect my brand,” she added. “And I feel like WWE now is being more open and receptive to people doing outside stuff, they would be understanding at this point and kind of let me do my thing.”

Saraya, known to WWE fans as the anti-diva Paige, carved out a significant legacy in the company’s women’s division before neck injuries ultimately sidelined her from in-ring competition. After her departure from WWE, she made a comeback in AEW. Now that her AEW chapter has closed, the desire for one more run in WWE is palpable among her fanbase, especially after she hinted on her ‘Rulebreakers’ podcast that she would “never say never.”

When the topic of a potential return persona arose, Saraya made it clear who she would want to be. “Paige. Paige. Paige,” she asserted. “She was a bada$$, and she has built my life. I got a movie made about Paige.”

Adding fuel to the speculation, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE’s stance on medically clearing Saraya might have softened given her ability to wrestle without injury in AEW for the past couple of years. “Their doctrine of saying they would never clear her as it was a few years back would likely change,” Meltzer wrote.

Despite the hopeful signs for a potential WWE return down the line, Saraya’s immediate priority remains building her brand outside the wrestling ring. While the possibility of seeing Paige back in a WWE ring isn’t entirely off the table, it appears that any such comeback would happen on her own terms and when the time is right.
