6. Ric Flair Jokes About His Previous Cruiserweight Comment
As we noted before, 2 time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently noted that Finn Balor, who is a Cruiserweight wrestler, shouldn’t have been booked to defeat Roman Reigns on Raw. Flair also said that Balor is too small to main event WrestleMania.
Flair made a joke on this statement by tweeting the following:
Even a Cruiserweight can win this Heavyweight title signed by me! Subscribe and post a screenshot with #RicFlairShow pic.twitter.com/1AHv11ASCD
— Ric Flair® (@RicFlairNatrBoy) July 30, 2016
Speaking of Flair, he was supposed to be in Sasha Banks’ corner at SummerSlam 2016 according to the original plans where Sasha was supposed to become the Women’s Champion at the biggest event of the Summer.
However, Sasha became the Women’s Champion on the 1st Brand Extension episode of Raw of the New Era. With WWE changing the original Women’s Title plans for SummerSlam 2016, it looks like Flair won’t be appearing at the event. Another point that supports this statement is the fact that Flair is no longer under a contract with WWE.
5. Val Venis Says Marijuana Helped Him Overcome His Drug Addictions
During an appearance on Vince Russo’s podcast, former WWF Intercontinental Champion Val Venis noted that he got addicted to prescription drugs during his WWF/E career and marijuana helped him overcome his addictions.
Below is what he said:
“The fact that I didn’t want to take pills any more was obviously key to not taking pills any more. There are some people that want to get off the pills, but once they get through the withdrawals over time they start thinking to themselves –‘I just wanted to get buzzed on a pill tonight’–and they wind up going right back down that same path. I think somebody has to actually really want to stop, and never want to take them again, in order for marijuana to really work for you.”
