• Saudi Arabia Wants WrestleMania Amid Ongoing Uncertainty

WrestleMania 42 will no longer take place in New Orleans and WWE’s flagship show is expected to take place in Las Vegas for the second year in a row. However, nothing is confirmed at the moment. Amid the ongoing uncertainty, Fightful Select has reported that Saudi Arabia wants to host WrestleMania, with many industry insiders believing that this will eventually happen. The first significant step in this direction is the confirmed hosting of the Royal Rumble 2026 PLE in Riyadh. This event will mark the first time the Royal Rumble is held outside North America, signifying a milestone in WWE’s international expansion.

The event is scheduled as part of Riyadh Season, a series of cultural and entertainment events aimed at boosting tourism and diversifying the economy in Saudi.

• NXT Star Was Told To Wrestle The WWE Style After Scary Incident

During an episode of NXT earlier this month, Jordynne Grace faced Giulia in a high-stakes match to determine the #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. Two particular moments during the match raised concerns.

Early in the match, Giulia landed awkwardly on her head following a move from Grace. Later, Grace executed a Michinoku Driver that resulted in Giulia’s head bouncing off the mat.

According to multiple reports, the first incident was attributed to a miscommunication, with Giulia tucking her chin when she shouldn’t have, reminiscent of past issues with moves like the Styles Clash. The second was described as a rough landing.

In response to these incidents, Fightful Select reports that WWE officials emphasized the importance of wrestling the WWE style to Jordynne, which prioritizes performer safety. It was made clear that such high-risk maneuvers and dangerous bumps are not to be normalized within the NXT environment.

Despite the scares, Giulia completed the match, and Grace secured the victory, earning a title shot against Stephanie Vaquer at NXT Battleground. Grace ended up losing to Vaquer.

• Update On Asuka’s Return Date

Asuka remains out of action, and her WWE return doesn’t appear to be coming any time soon. Fightful Select previously reported that the former Women’s Champion is still recovering from an injury she suffered in May 2024, shortly after losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

At the time of her injury, WWE expected her to miss the rest of the year and WrestleMania 41 in 2025 as well. Although there were early talks within WWE creative about what she could do once she returns, sources told Fightful those discussions came as a surprise, given how far off her return still is.

In an update from WrestleVotes, WWE officials expect Asuka to be back by the end of 2025:

“Asuka, they’re hopeful by the end of the year. They wanted her for Mania. It didn’t work obviously, she’s not cleared at the moment, so they’re hopeful.”
