• “Screw being marketable” – RAW Wrestler On His WWE Character

Mustafa Ali joined the WWE in 2016 by being a part of the Cruiserweight Classic and later the Cruiserweight Division.

He hasn’t done much in WWE and his biggest accomplishments so far are being the leader of the RETRIBUTION stable in WWE and competing for the Cruiserweight Championship on the WrestleMania 34 Kickoff Show.

Vince McMahon wanted Ali to be the typical foreign heel character, but he didn’t want to do it and they had a falling out last year.

Ali is now back on WWE programming and is a member of the RAW roster.

Below is what he tweeted about his character:

“I’ve always found myself toning down who I am to be more ‘marketable’ … and because of that I find myself trying to find myself.

I’m Pakistani. I’m Indian. I’m American. I’m Muslim. I’m Mustafa Ali.

And I’m gonna embrace all that. Screw being marketable. I’m gonna be a message.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Road Dogg then replied:

“Just be you big dog! You are the part that’s marketable!!”
