Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are happily married and have a daughter. During an interview on The Pivot podcast, Rollins talked about how he started dating ‘The Man’:
“I sort of fell into it a little bit. I think neither of us really wanted to date in the business that much. It just seemed like a recipe for disaster, mostly because if it goes wrong, then you still have to work with that person, travel with that person, see that person date other people — that’s just… it’s a mess. You don’t want any of that when you break up with somebody.
Please, I don’t want any of that. Then you’re playing games, and it’s a whole different set of mental hurdles you have to jump over.
We were both kind of like, you know, we were friends for… we met, like, gosh, maybe 2014 or something like that. So we’d been friends for, like, 4 or 5 years. Good friends. Hung out, totally platonic, just chilling.
We had a lot in common. Obviously, we shared a love for our industry and stuff like that. We have a similar kind of background — she came from the indies in Ireland as well. And so, yeah, I mean, we had a lot in common, and then it was just sort of a right-place, right-time thing. It made sense.
As soon as sparks started flying, I knew right away. We started dating in January, and I was picking out a ring in March, you know what I mean? Like, I was ready to rock. We were engaged that summer, and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, this is it.’ It made too much sense at that point. I’m like, ‘This is it, done and dusted. Easy breezy.’ And then we had our baby in 2020 — full COVID baby.”
Rollins then recalled the first time he hooked up with the WrestleMania 35 main eventer:
“I was shooting my shot ahead of time, I was talking a big game, trying to make things a little bit more romantic, I was like over the platonic stuff, and we also hadn’t been single at the same time, really.
Let’s get down to business, so I had turned up my flirting game, but I also hadn’t seen her a lot, so I was texting, talking, and then we finally found ourselves in a room and she game out of the shower in a towel, and she gave me that look like ‘put up or shut up’.
I was not expecting that. It is not her personality type, but I was like – alright, this is it, we’re for real here, this is the real deal.”
