Seth Rollins Was Scheduled To Work Night of Champions 2015 As a Triple Champion?

One week before Night of Champions 2015, there were plans for Seth Rollins to walk into the PPV as a Triple Champion.

WWE officials wanted Rollins to have 3 matches in 1 night (with Sheamus teasing a possible fourth match of the night by cashing-in) as they wanted to put the Intercontinental Title on him.

Rollins was supposed to defeat Ryback in the go-home edition of Raw for Night of Champions and become the 1st man ever to hold the United States Title, Intercontinental Title & WWE World Heavyweight Title, all at once. But Triple H decided to drop this idea as he felt Rollins is already overexposed and him wrestling 3 times in 1 night would be overkill. Ryback then went on to drop the title to Kevin Owens at Night of Champions 2015.

In case you missed it, Seth Rollins set yet another record as he became the longest reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion among the men who won the title by cashing-in Money in the Bank contract. He has now held the title for more than 180 days now. The record was previously held by The Miz, who cashed-in to win the WWE Title back in 2010, at 160 days.
