Below are a couple of top AEW news stories of the day, involving Shane McMahon, Mercedes Mone, Mace & Mansoor.

• Shane McMahon’s connections in the pro wrestling world are extensive, given his status as Vince McMahon’s son. Recently, these connections have become a hot topic due to rumors involving AEW.

PWInsider reported that Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon were spotted together at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. The two were seen conversing as they headed to their flights.

A source confirmed that their discussion included AEW. Rumors have been swirling about Shane O’Mac’s potential interest in AEW, and AEW President Tony Khan has expressed his openness to talking with McMahon.

• AEW has built a reputation for bringing in talent formerly seen on WWE and NXT television. With ongoing rumors about new debuts, fans frequently speculate about the latest crop of WWE releases potentially joining AEW. It seems two more former WWE wrestlers might soon be part of AEW’s roster.

Mace & Mansoor, known for their Maximum Male Models gimmick, made a notable effort during their WWE tenure. Mansoor, once celebrated as a hero in Saudi Arabia, saw his character transformed into a model under Vince McMahon’s direction and never returned to his initial spotlight. Despite their dedication to the gimmick, the duo was eventually released from WWE, but have continued to work together as a team.

During his Backstage Report podcast on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp discussed the potential AEW arrival of Mace and Mansoor. He mentioned that there is a strong belief they have already inked deals with Tony Khan’s company.

“We have been told they were in talks with AEW/ROH about coming in. I believe that they are signed, but I have not been given that confirmation as of yet,” Sapp reported.
