• Shawn Michaels Wants Top Star In NXT A Little Longer
When Triple H took over the booking for WWE after Vince McMahon retired from all positions in July, Hunter’s Kliq buddy Shawn Michaels completely took over NXT and can pretty much (almost) do whatever he wants in WWE’s developmental brand.
During a recent WWE media call, The Heartbreak Kid ended up praising a lot of his current NXT Stars, but also stated that he would like to have some of them around a little longer, before they get called up to the main roster (RAW or SmackDown).
One of the names that HBK wants to keep a little longer in NXT is the current NXT Champion, Bron Breakker (son of Rick Steiner).
Here’s what the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer had to say:
“I think there are guys you know, probably insert right in, a guy like JD McDonaugh, there is another person that flow right in, will be ready to go, I think a Grayson Waller, clearly Apollo (Crews) obviously, but I think Grayson Waller is a guy that is unbelievably talented… does everything under the sun for us, you know.
I believe someone like an Alba Fyre could step right in, a Zoey Stark… you know, people that have been doing it long enough. I mean from a work standpoint, from a character standpoint and even from… I’ll say… age, maturity and time in the business that are better ready to step right in… they’ll still learn obviously by working in the ring with people better than them.
Nothing to take away from the Brons and the Creeds who… again they would do excellent… but I guess if we wanted to… we would love to be able to have them and cook them little longer… really get them well-rounded and perfect them as best we can so that they have the best chance for success.”
Shawn Michaels wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1988 until 1998 and again (for the renamed WWE) from 2002 till he officially retired in 2010.
The Showstopper eventually came out of retirement for one match on November 2nd 2018 at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.
