Sheamus and AEW’s Bryan Danielson (fka Daniel Bryan in WWE) have had some very physical matches in the past.
The two men crossed paths many times during their WWE careers and one of those times was on the road to WrestleMania 27.
Speaking to Metro, The Celtic Warrior revealed that he wrestled Bryan at a WWE Live Event just before WrestleMania 27 and they put on a good match, which made some top guys in WWE unhappy because they had to follow their performance.
“I remember one time we had a Live Event just before Mania in Atlanta, this is before we found out we got bumped to that pre-show at WrestleMania 27.
So I’m having this crazy physical match with D-Bry – me and him, just the chemistry we had and the different styles, the technical high flyer against the big brawler.
So you had guys going out afterwards – I’m not gonna tell you who they were, but top guys – and they’re pissed off with us because they had to follow that.
They’re going out doing this tippy-tappy sh*t and we’re in there kicking the crap out of each other, marks all over us.”
Sheamus is set to wrestle Edge for the first time ever, on The Rated-R Superstar’s 25th year anniversary in WWE, this coming Friday on SmackDown in Toronto.
