Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Bayley and Backlash.

• “She’s washed up. She’s boring” – WWE Veteran On Bayley

Jonathan Coachman recently shared some strong opinions about Bayley’s position in WWE.

In an interview with Behind The Turnbuckle, Coachman discussed the possibility of Bayley getting involved in the Becky Lynch versus Lyra Valkyria storyline. He didn’t hold back, saying, “Oh my God! You can’t be serious. You cannot be serious.”

Coachman questioned Bayley’s relevance, stating, “Why keep bringing up Bayley? That’s my question. Bayley is done. She’s washed up. She’s boring. She’s nothing. She’s nothing anymore. What does she bring to the table? If you dropped Bayley off the roster today, what would we lose?”

Coachman, who worked for WWE for 13 years, also doubted Bayley’s ability to draw fans. He recalled, “When I was in the WWE for 13 years, there would be certain people, and she’d be one of them, that you’d walk around backstage going, ‘How in the world is she winning the Royal Rumble? Or ‘How in the world is he doing that.’”

He added, “To me, I think she’s a very sweet person but there’s a lot of sweet people. But I just don’t think she’s ever sold a ticket, like ever sold a ticket for any rivalry that she’s ever done.”

• New WWE Star Could Debut At Backlash

Jeff Cobb is expected to join WWE’s SmackDown brand and could be at the Backlash PLE tomorrow night.

Cobb recently wrapped up his time with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and is now a free agent. His last NJPW match took place last month.

Reports of Cobb heading to WWE had surfaced before his NJPW departure. He is now listed internally on WWE’s SmackDown roster, according to PWN.

PWInsider noted that creative plans for Cobb’s debut have been discussed, and he is expected to be present at Backlash in St. Louis. It’s unclear if he will appear LIVE at the premium live event or just be backstage.
