2. United States Title Match Set For Next Week, SmackDown Live Star To Become The New Legend Killer?
On this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles successfully defended his United States Championship against “Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger. Styles was attacked by former Mr. Money In The Bank Baron Corbin after the match, who noted that he’ll be Styles’ opponent for next week’s US Title Open Challenge on SmackDown Live.
Also on this week’s episode, Rusev addressed his humiliating 10 second defeat to Randy Orton at SummerSlam 2017. Rusev noted that he took some time off to recover by going to Bulgaria and noted that he needs to break a Legend.
This could be a hint at a possible new “Legend Killer” type of gimmick for the former United States Champion and what better way to kick this gimmick off by taking out the original “Legend Killer”, Randy Orton (although it’s highly doubtful because there are hardly any legends and veterans on WWE programming today).
