SmackDown Results – Cody Rhodes’ Next Challenger For The WWE Title

Today’s WWE SmackDown took place in Perth, Australia and aired LIVE internationally on Netflix. In the United States, it will air at the usual time on the USA Network later tonight. Below are the complete results:

– Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes kicked off the show. Cody said Seth Rollins can’t defeat him and he will beat him once again tomorrow night in their Men’s Crown Jewel Championship match. During the segment, Cody asked the commentators to repeat what the crowd was chanting. Wade Barrett took the mic and said:

“They are saying, ‘Seth Rollins is a wanker.'”

– Chelsea Green tried to hire Stephanie Vaquer to her Secret Hervice, but Stephanie wasn’t interested. Tiffany Stratton showed up and Stephanie said she has her back tonight, and she knows Stratton has her back.

– Jacob Fatu met Cody Rhodes backstage and said he’ll be coming for the WWE Championship after Crown Jewel. Drew McIntyre then attacked Fatu.

– Shinsuke Nakamura made his return to WWE TV to answer Sami Zayn’s U.S. Title open challenge.

– Shinsuke Nakamura def. Sami Zayn (c) via DQ, Sami retains the United States Championship

Tama Tonga returned from injury and attacked Nakamura to cause the disqualification. Talla Tonga, Tonga Loa, and JC Mateo (all of them in face paint) showed up and destroyed Sami and Shinsuke. Solo Sikoa then showed up, while the fans chanted “f**k you, Solo.” The MFTs posed over their fallen victims.

– Nick Aldis told Drew McIntyre that he’s booking him in a match against Jacob Fatu on next week’s SmackDown. Fatu attacked McIntyre.

– WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer def. Women’s United States Champion Giulia and Kiana James

Stratton pinned James. Tiffany and Stephanie had a face-off in front of the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship after the match.

– WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair told ZaRuca that they are not ready for them. Zaria said they should prove it in a match because they sound scared. Sol Ruca said they are asking for an opportunity, that’s all. Alexa and Charlotte granted them their request.

– Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy) (c) def. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship

During the match, B-Fab attacked Nikki Cross for interfering. Erick Rowan then stepped in. Nikki then took out B-Fab. Montez and Angelo took out Rowan. After the match, the MFTs confronted The Wyatt Sicks.

– Cathy Kelley interviewed The Miz and asked him why he turned his back on Carmelo Hayes. Miz told her to rephrase her question because he didn’t turn on Carmelo – Carmelo turned on him. Miz reminded Cathy who he is – a two-time Grand Slam Champion, a WrestleMania main eventer, and a future WWE Hall of Famer. He could’ve turned Carmelo into a star, but Carmelo missed that opportunity.

– Aleister Black def. Damian Priest in a Last Man Standing match

During the ending moments of the match, Zelina Vega stepped in to stop Priest from further hurting her husband. However, Black told Vega to step aside. Black then threw a fireball in Priest’s face and hit him with a Black Mass, which got him the win.
