• “Snotty-Nosed Brat” – WWE Hall Of Famer On Vince McMahon
During his early days of getting into the business, Rob Van Dam was originally trained to become a professional wrestler by Sabu’s uncle, The Original Sheik (aka The Sheik) Edward Farhat.
During a recent ‘Ten Count’ interview, RVD spoke about his former mentor, who passed away in 2003 but posthumously got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 by his nephew Sabu and Rob Van Dam himself.
Here’s what ‘The Whole F’n Show’ had to say about The Sheik:
“He would tell stories while we were eating dinner after training in the ring.
He would talk about how he trained Greg Valentine and Abdullah the Butcher, and he even had Vince (McMahon). He said that Vince was a snotty-nosed brat when he had him stay at his house for a while.
If someone looks up and says ‘No, Iron Sheik was trained by this guy!’ Doesn’t matter. He had his hands on everything.”
The Original Sheik wrestled from his debut in January 1947 until his final match in May 1995.
