Brock Lesnar was originally scheduled to make his return to WWE programming during the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
However, he was pulled from the show after he was mentioned in the Vince McMahon lawsuit.
According to the Wrestling Observer, NXT star Bron Breakker (son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner) replaced Lesnar in the 30-man Royal Rumble.
After Breakker eliminated Omos, Dominik Mysterio took advantage of a distracted Breakker and eliminated him.
According to POSTWrestling, Lesnar was also scheduled to be eliminated by Dominik, which would’ve led to a match between The Beast and Dirty Dom at the Elimination Chamber 2024 premium live event in Australia next month.
This plan has also been canceled and Brock won’t be returning for WrestleMania 40 either.
According to the Wrestling Observer, some people in WWE think Lesnar will retire now:
“It appears that Brock Lesnar is not going to be around for a while. Some poeple think ever. When it comes to talent, I hate to say forever because most of the time it’s not the case, especially if somebody can draw, they seem to find a way back.”
Lesnar hanging up his boots and walking off into the sunset to avoid any more controversy isn’t too hard to believe. He’s not hurting for money and revealed during an interview that he originally had no plans to return to WWE after WrestleMania 36.
Here’s what Lesnar said in 2022:
“I actually retired when COVID hit and my contract was up in 2020.
Full circle Brock Lesnar story. I had my first wrestling match in Minnesota – was in a garage with no people.
20 years later, had a WWE Title match at WrestleMania in a warehouse in front of no people.
20 years, full circle. I was like ‘I’m out’.”
