• Some WWE Writers Didn’t Want Newly Announced WrestleMania 42 Match To Take Place
The match between Seth Rollins and Gunther for WrestleMania 42 was a last-minute decision that almost didn’t happen. While fans were surprised to see the match made official so quickly, internal reports from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select show there was actually a big debate behind the scenes. The match was only finalized about a week before the March 30th episode of RAW.
Some writers wanted Rollins to finish his long-running Vision storyline instead of being in a new feud. Other officials were more worried about making sure Gunther (one of the company’s biggest heels) had a major match on the card after his massive “Career Killer” push.
Once Rollins was finally cleared from his shoulder injury, WWE moved fast by having Gunther attack him to set the rivalry in motion.
Paul Heyman is not expected to be in Gunther’s corner for this match. With WrestleMania 42 just around the corner, WWE is betting that the star power of these two is enough to make the match a hit, even with the short buildup.

• Major Update On Chris Jericho’s AEW Future After Return On Dynamite
Chris Jericho’s return to AEW this week was a last-minute operation designed to keep his comeback a total secret. After months of rumors about a possible move back to WWE, the former AEW World Champion made a surprise appearance on the April 1 episode of Dynamite in his hometown of Winnipeg. Almost no one backstage knew he was there until the show was about to start.
Jericho didn’t spend the day at the arena. Instead, he was driven directly into the building just two minutes before the broadcast began and went straight to the Gorilla Position.
According to PWInsider, the general consensus among the locker room is that Jericho has officially signed a new contract with All Elite Wrestling, ending the speculation about his free agency.
After his segment in the ring, Jericho stayed to film more content and do a photo shoot. He also spent time walking around backstage, introducing himself to some of the newer wrestlers on the roster he hadn’t met yet.
