• Change Made To WWE’s Creative Team Ahead Of Royal Rumble 2026
WWE has made a big change to how their stories are written. To make sure both major TV shows feel connected, the company has put longtime writer Ryan Ward in charge of the creative direction for both RAW and SmackDown.

According to PWInsider, this “recent adjustment” means Ward will now oversee the big picture for the whole company. Under him, the shows will have specific leaders to handle the day-to-day work:
RAW Leaders: Alexandra Williams and Jonathan Baeckstrom will co-lead the Monday night show. Williams is well-known for working closely with CM Punk on his promos since he returned. Baeckstrom is a veteran who has been a head writer for RAW since 2019.
SmackDown Leaders: John Swikata and WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg will team up to run the Friday night show. Swikata has been the lead writer for SmackDown since last summer, and Road Dogg has been a top voice in creative for many years.
By putting Ryan Ward at the top, WWE hopes to have a “unified vision.” This means stories might flow more smoothly between the two brands. With specialized writers like Williams focusing on top stars and veterans like Road Dogg and Baeckstrom providing experience, WWE is setting up a strong team for the road to WrestleMania 42.

Not only did Dirty Boxing Championship ignore All Elite Wrestling in their post (where Lashley currently works), they also tagged the wrong Lashley account.
Lashley is currently off AEW programming due to a legitimate injury. According to Fightful Select, the former WWE Champion won’t be out of action for a lengthy time, which was first suspected.
The All Mighty last competed at the Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view back in November, where he entered the Casino Gauntlet match for the AEW National Championship.
