Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Rusev and Karrion Kross.
• Spoiler On WWE’s Upcoming Plan For Rusev
Fans might soon see a familiar rivalry reignite on RAW. According to PWInsider, WWE is reportedly planning a storyline between Rusev and Sheamus.
Rusev recently made his surprising return to WWE on RAW after WrestleMania 41, after over 4 years in AEW as Miro. He immediately joined the RAW roster, attacking Alpha Academy. Rusev has signed a two-year deal and is scheduled to face Akira Tozawa on next week’s RAW, after he recently destroyed Otis.
His wife, CJ Perry (fka Lana), signed a WWE Legends contract.
Sheamus is also back on RAW and recently signed a new five-year WWE contract. Sheamus recently praised Tozawa for standing up for himself against Rusev.
This isn’t the first time Rusev and Sheamus have crossed paths. Rusev defeated Sheamus for his first United States Championship on November 3, 2014. They later teamed up in The League of Nations from late 2015 to April 2016, alongside Alberto Del Rio and King Barrett.

• Karrion Kross Reveals If He Was Supposed To Face Randy Orton At WrestleMania 41
During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross was asked if WWE considered him as Randy Orton’s mystery opponent at WrestleMania 41. Kross said:
“It was only ever something that was tracking online. No one ever said, ‘You’re in the running’ or anything like that.”
He expressed his desire to face Orton, calling him “one of the greats of all time.” Despite this, Kross felt it wasn’t his place to ask for the match. He believes WWE officials know who is available for major events like WrestleMania.
“As badly as I wanted to be in the ring with him, and I still do, I’d never be so condescending as to go to them and be like, ‘How about me?’ They know who’s available. It’s a special event, and maybe they felt it was random, but whatever,” he added.
Karrion also spoke about his ambition balanced with realism. He admitted to being tough on himself and not pursuing the opportunity, perhaps to his own detriment.
“For me, there’s always the brass ring. But I feel like there’s also a line of delusion. I think I’m being hard on myself, but I’m telling you the truth, I didn’t. Maybe I should have. I would have loved to wrestle Randy at WrestleMania, but it is what it is,” Kross explained.
Ultimately, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry was the surprise opponent for Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. According to multiple reports, Orton handpicked Hendry as his opponent.
