Stephanie McMahon has opened up about her experiences working under her father, Vince McMahon, during her WWE career, admitting that some of his creative ideas for her were “weird”.
After her debut as Vince’s quiet daughter, Stephanie’s on-screen persona shifted in 1999 when she allied with Triple H, leading to intense crowd reactions and controversial storylines.
In Netflix’s Mr. McMahon docuseries, Vince recalled the audience’s strong reaction to Stephanie’s heel turn, noting her dedication:
“Steph became this great heel. She was willing to do anything.
She’s always been, ‘Whatever you want, dad.’
She knows what it is I’m trying to do.”
Stephanie reflected on her early career and acknowledged how much she followed her father’s lead:
“When I was younger in my career, I was all on board to do whatever he wanted.
I look back on some of the stuff I did and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I did that’.”
When asked if she found her father’s requests strange, she admitted:
“Yeah, sometimes, I thought it was a little bit weird, but it was a different time in our business.”
