On Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan’s historic gift for Sting was revealed to be Ric Flair, who made his debut in All Elite Wrestling.
Flair tweeted the following about his AEW debut:
“I’m Ready For This Journey In AEW With My Dear Friend ‘The Icon’ Sting! WOOOOO!”
Sting tweeted:
“He put me on the map in the very beginning, and Ric Flair is going to be with me every step of the way to the end, and we’ll go out together in a blaze of glory! WWWOOOO! OOOWWW! It’s showtime!”
You can watch his complete debut segment below:
According to the Wrestling Observer, The Nature Boy will be a part of AEW programming at least until Revolution 2024 in March (where Sting will have his retirement match), and AEW also plans on promoting Ric’s energy drink:
“Tony Khan wanted him to be part of the Sting storyline and he’s supposed to be on the show as part of this through March. I believe part of this is also that AEW will help promote his ‘Woooo’ energy drink, or at least that is what is being talked about.”
During Ric’s debut segment, Christian Cage took multiple shots at him. Christian said:
“So, Tony Khan is a billionaire and this is the gift that he gives to Sting for his retirement? He basically gave you a suit, some gold chains and a black liver. Great gift.”
Christian then declared that there is no God because if there was a God, Flair would’ve died 20 years ago.
Flair sent the following message to Cage on Twitter:
“Don’t Make The Mistake Of Making It About Me, Christian! I’m Along For The Ride. I’m Here To Support My Friend Sting! If You Continue To Make It About Me, We’re Going To Have A Problem! WOOOOO!”
This is what happened the last time Christian and Ric were in the same ring:
