Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring John Cena’s heel turn.
• Stone Cold Steve Austin believes John Cena’s heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 was long overdue.
During an interview with The Schmo, The Texas Rattlesnake reacted to Cena’s betrayal of Cody Rhodes and alliance with The Rock and Travis Scott. “Hey, that happened. Sooner or later. Finally, it happened,” he said.
Austin is curious to see how fans react:
“It’ll be interesting to see whether the people accept him, accept him as a heel, or has he turned himself more babyface? I think it remains to be seen as the story unfolds.
But nonetheless, they’ve kicked off an epic build into WrestleMania. And that’s what they do every single year. And this year, it’s here in Las Vegas, so it’s gonna be pretty damn awesome.”
• John Cena Sr. is refusing to discuss his son’s shocking betrayal of Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber 2025.
Speaking to Bill Apter of WrestleBinge, Cena’s father made it clear he’s tired of the constant questions about Cena’s heel turn and alliance with The Rock.
Here’s what he said:
“I’m tired of guys like you, I’m tired of the other phone calls that I’m getting. I don’t know why he did what he did. You’re gonna have to get that from him. I am so tired of this. Why don’t we just let it play out and find out what’s happening?
A reporter is a reporter. Listen Bill Apter, ‘friend,’ enough is enough. Thanks! I won’t say what Cody Rhodes said to you, but what I will say is have a nice day and thanks for nothing.”
