Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin, WrestleMania 40 and JBL.

• The WrestleMania 40 main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship featured the surprise returns of John Cena and The Undertaker.

Cena took out Solo Sikoa. The Rock then came out and took out Cena with a Rock Bottom. The Undertaker then showed up out of nowhere and chokeslammed The Final Boss.

While The Undertaker appearing was an epic surprise and got a huge pop, many fans felt it should’ve been Stone Cold Steve Austin who should’ve taken out The Rock, due to the history between both men.

During an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Austin revealed that WWE did reach out to him for WrestleMania XL and explained why he didn’t appear:

“It was close (almost appearing at WrestleMania 40), and they certainly reached out to me, and we had conversations, but my wife and I had some things going on that I didn’t need to go to Philly at that time.

But I have said, I missed that ‘Mania, and God dang, Philly was a good town for me back in the day and I appreciate those fans.”

“Proud to wholeheartedly support this True American Hero. The world is lucky to have MJF.”
