As we all know by now, former 3 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is being punished for failing the WWE Wellness Policy. Due to this, he got pinned at Money In The Bank, Battleground, and on Raw after Battleground.

Speaking of Raw after Battleground, Roman Reigns & Finn Balor fought for a spot in the Universal Championship match at SummerSlam 2016. The match ended with Balor defeating Reigns clean in the match and earning the right to face Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship.

However, the original finish was for Balor to duck a Superman Punch from Reigns and then roll him up to get the win, thus keeping Reigns strong in the process as well. But that didn’t happen as Vince McMahon changed the finish and booked Balor to go over clean and look strong.

On last week’s Raw, Roman interrupted Rusev and a brawl broke out between the two and Roman got the upper hand. Roman then took a look at the United States Championship and giving a hint that he’s coming after it. It was then confirmed on this week’s Raw that Reigns will face Rusev for the United States Championship.

Roman Reigns going after the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2016

This Title match will take place at SummerSlam 2016. With Reigns still being in the doghouse, word is that Reigns will be losing at this PPV as well. However, it likely won’t be a clean pinfall victory and expect some interference from Lana. If WWE decides to book the match with a clean finish with Rusev going over, then Roman might get booked to pass out to the Accolade.

One can expect this rivalry to last at least 2 PPV events.

Roman ended this week’s Raw by laying out Rusev with a Spear.
