SummerSlam 2017 Aftermath – Reason Behind Brock Lesnar Pinning Roman Reigns, SmackDown Live Star Gets Punished? Grand Slam Champion Crowned

John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns

Most of the fans didn’t enjoy the SummerSlam 2017 PPV as a whole, but it’s safe to say that majority of the fans were impressed with the main event. Let’s take a look at the aftermath from SummerSlam 2017:

5. John Cena’s SummerSlam Streak Ends, Solid Kickoff Show

16 Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena kicked off the SummerSlam 2017 main show with his match with “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin. Cena managed to defeat the former Mr. Money In The Bank and ended his SummerSlam losing streak. For those who don’t know, John Cena had a little SummerSlam streak going on for him. The Cenation Leader has lost all his singles matches at SummerSlam since 2008. Below are his SummerSlam opponents that he lost to since then:

2008 – Batista
2009 – Randy Orton
2011 – CM Punk
2013 – Daniel Bryan
2014 – Brock Lesnar
2015 – Seth Rollins
2016 – AJ Styles

It should be noted that Cena was involved in a tag team match in 2010 (which his team won) and he was involved in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship in 2012 (which he lost).

Speaking of SummerSlam 2017, WWE delivered a solid Kickoff show which featured two Title changes. Neville regained the Cruiserweight Title after defeating Akira Tozawa and ending his Title reign in under a week and The Usos defeated The New Day to become the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Usually PPV Kickoff shows feature just filler matches, but this Kickoff show wasn’t like that.
