On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 1985, the World Wrestling Federation held a televised house show at the world’s most famous arena Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.
This live event aired on the MSG Network and featured the famous Backlund/Snuka cage match.

• SummerSlam Challenge Made To Trish Stratus & Lita
As seen on tonight’s episode of RAW, the team of SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks defeated The Kabuki Warriors (RAW Women’s Champion Asuka & Kairi Sane) in the main event to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
After this win, Bayley has laid out a SummerSlam challenge to the Hall of Fame team of Trish Stratus & Lita.

“Let’s seee, another dream match down, another victory won. Sooooo…..after we get all the gold Extreme Rules …….. we will take Lita and Trish at SummerSlam. Thank youuuuuuuu #raw”

Trish retired after losing to Charlotte Flair at last year’s SummerSlam, but she has come out of her original retirement (in 2006) multiple times, so you never know (although it’s highly unlikely she’ll return for a match during a pandemic with no real fans in attendance).
