With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon and Royal Rumble 2025 fast approaching, speculation about main event plans is running high. According to Billi Bhatti, Seth Rollins may be in line to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match, setting up a blockbuster storyline for the biggest stage of the year.
Bhatti revealed:
“I was told very clearly that the loser of CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins would win the Royal Rumble. Now, don’t take that to the bank because so much has changed. WWE doesn’t have anything set in stone for WrestleMania right now, largely because of The Rock’s indecisiveness.”
During the RAW Netflix debut on January 6, CM Punk defeated Rollins in a high-profile match, potentially positioning Rollins as the favorite to claim the Royal Rumble victory. Bhatti explained that this outcome aligns with WWE’s plans to continue the Rollins-Punk feud, as it was never intended to be a one-off match.
“The decision made by WWE on January 6, while finalizing some WrestleMania plans, was that Rollins and Punk needed to have more matches in their series.”
Bhatti also teased a dramatic moment that could unfold in the Rumble match itself:
“You might even see a spot at the Rumble where Rollins ruins Punk’s dream by eliminating him last. Rollins would then emerge as the Royal Rumble winner and the #1 contender, while Punk takes an alternative path.”
Meanwhile, uncertainty surrounding The Rock’s involvement at WrestleMania continues to complicate WWE’s plans. Bhatti added:
“If The Rock decides he’s not doing the show… things will change. The guy is being a complete prick, playing a lot of people here. He’s not giving any straight answers.”
The Rock’s decision—or lack thereof—has reportedly left plans for Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk in flux.
For now, Rollins appears to be WWE’s top choice for the Royal Rumble winner, but as always, nothing is final until the event itself unfolds.
Rollins has won the Royal Rumble match once before, back in 2019. He then went on to defeat Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35.
