Fans have been curious about Danielson’s first title challenger, with some expecting Strickland to invoke a rematch clause.
However, PWInsider reports that Danielson will face Darby Allin in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. This match, set for September 25, at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York, will headline the show.
Darby Allin earned this title shot after winning the Royal Rampage match last month.
Allin lost to Jack Perry in a Coffin Match for the TNT Championship at All In.

• Former WWE Superstar Ricochet made his AEW debut at All In, where he competed in the Casino Gauntlet Match, which he didn’t win.
Ricochet’s debut singles match in the company will be against Kyle Fletcher on this Wednesday’s Dynamite, as Kyle and Don Callis issued the challenge after the PPV went off the air.
His fiancée, WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin tweeted the following about his AEW debut:
