During an interview on Rene Dupree’s podcast, Jonathan Coachman talked about flying on Vince McMahon’s private plane back in the day, WWE Hall of Fame, a possible return under Triple H & more. Below are the highlights:
Biggest rule on Vince McMahon’s plane:
“When I flew on his plane, there were rules. And the biggest rule was: unless he slept, you’re not allowed to sleep because he wanted that energy in the plane.”
If he’d accept a WWE Hall of Fame induction:
“Nope, I would not. And it’s not just about how things ended because you get over money. Money comes and goes. I’ll never take money problems to my grave. But I look at how they do the WWE induction.
First of all, invest in a building. There is no Hall of Fame, right? There’s no Hall of Fame. Like, there’s no place for you to go and look at your bust. There’s no way for you to go.
And when you look at some of the names, you’re like, what are we doing? The Hall of Fame is supposed to be the absolute very best at what they do whether it’s a manager, talent, whatever. And that’s not what they do.
They check boxes every year so they can have a good show. That’s what they do and it’s obvious that’s what they do. So, no, I would have no interest in being in the WWE Hall of Fame.”
If he’d consider returning to WWE:
“Would I go back now? It would have to be the right situation. I would never do a three-man booth again. And I would only go back and either be a really high-level manager or I would be my heel, you know, heel Coach character.
You know, I always walk around with these (glasses), you know what I mean? And, you know, I transform from the nice guy to heel Coach like that (snaps his fingers).”
