• Old School WCW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WCW Veteran Konnan (Real name: Charles Ashenoff) celebrates his 56th birthday today.

After portraying Mega Man character “Max Moon” in the World Wrestling Federation for a few house show matches, but only 1 (!!!) televised match, Konnan left McMahon’s company, but would soon wrestle for Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling and ultimately found a new home in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, where he stayed till the bitter end in March of 2001.

Since the end of WCW, Konnan has wrestled and appeared in non-wrestling roles for Total Nonstop Action, now known as iMPACT Wrestling, as well as several lucha libre promotions such as AAA and Lucha Underground.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KONNAN!

• The New Day Almost Got In A Backstage Fight At WrestleMania 32

During a recent edition of The New Day: Feel The Power podcast, The New Day revealed that they were almost involved in a backstage fight with The League Of Nations (Sheamus, Rusev, Alberto Del Rio & Wade Barrett) after their match at WrestleMania 32.

Below is what Xavier Woods said about this:

“This was my first time being in an advertised match at WrestleMania and it just completely fell apart at no fault of our own, so I was on another-level mad, because it shouldn’t have been like that.

There shouldn’t have been arguments, there shouldn’t have almost been a fight, so I’m on like another level of heated.”

Kofi Kingston said the following:

“Did [WWE] air what we said? I feel like they didn’t air the grievance that we had with the match.

In a lot of ways that dynamic, where it was like the two polar opposites, right? Because we are three guys who are always totally for the group – the better that one of us is, the better that is for all of us – and them, it was more the mentality of, ‘I don’t want to be here, I’m in this for myself, how can I [help myself]?’”

Big E said WrestleMania 32 was his worst WrestleMania as a WWE Superstar.

Luckily for them, most fans only remember what happened after their match, where “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels & Mick Foley stole the show:
