In a recent episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, David Shoemaker revealed that four hours of Vince McMahon’s interview footage for Netflix’s Mr. McMahon series was cut due to technical issues.
The six-part series has gained significant attention, ranking as Netflix’s second most-watched show in the United States.
Simmons remarked, “We had four hours [of Vince’s interview] on the cutting room floor.
I think this easily could have been ten parts, but we didn’t want to do it that way.”
Shoemaker added, “We had four hours of Vince’s interview on the cutting room floor because he sounded like a frog one day [laughs].
He didn’t have a voice.
There was so much good material, but I think the story that Chris and the team were able to tell is pretty amazing.”
They also confirmed that WWE was not involved in the final cut of the series.
Additionally, they highlighted the Evel Knievel story as the best content that ultimately didn’t make it into the show.
