Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Randy Orton, The Rock and John Cena.
• The Rock & John Cena Will Cross Paths Again
The Rock could be making his WWE return this summer, according to former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman.
Speaking on The Coach & Bro Show, Coachman said he was told by a reliable source that The Rock and John Cena are expected to cross paths before the end of the summer:
“I have it on good authority—who haven’t we seen? Who’s been taking all of the stray bullets when it comes to, ‘Oh, you threw Triple H under the bus. You’re nowhere to be found.’ Who is that? The Rock.
And I have it on good authority that Cena and The Rock will cross paths in one way or another by the end of the summer.”
The Rock hasn’t appeared on WWE television since Elimination Chamber 2025. At that event, John Cena turned heel by attacking Cody Rhodes and siding with The Rock, who had previously asked Rhodes to join him in a partnership. Rhodes refused, leading to the betrayal.
Cena then defeated Rhodes to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.
If Coachman’s sources are correct, The Rock and Cena’s story could continue very soon.

• Randy Orton’s Possible Opponent For SummerSlam 2025
WWE may be setting the stage for a major showdown this summer, as Randy Orton is expected to face SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis at SummerSlam 2025.
The news comes from WrestleVotes, who believes the match is in the works:
“I think SummerSlam seems likely. Couple weeks ago, we reported that Nick Aldis is willing and ready when the storyline permits. If they’ve figured it out with him and Orton and they’ve come to a date, then I say let’s rock and roll.”
If confirmed, this would mark Nick Aldis’ first match on WWE television and a rare instance of an on-screen General Manager stepping back into the ring.
The tension between Orton and Aldis has been building for over a year, and things reached a boiling point at Backlash 2025, when Orton hit Aldis with an RKO for the third time in less than 12 months.
Aldis last wrestled in October 2023.
