During an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, WWF Legend The Rock revealed that his favorite WrestleMania match was against John Cena in 2013.

Below is what The Great One said:

“I would probably say the last WrestleMania I headlined with John Cena. We’re at MetLife Stadium, New York. And I went in as WWE Champion, the whole idea of the match was at the end of the match I was going to crown him champion. We were going to crown him champion, pass the torch, he goes on as champion and I walk off into the sunset.”

In the main event of WrestleMania 28 in 2012, The Rock defeated John Cena in a “Once In A Lifetime” match.

In the main event of WrestleMania 29 in 2013, John Cena defeated The Rock to win the WWE Championship in a “Greatness vs. Redemption” match.

Rock raised Cena’s hand after the loss and that was his last proper advertised match to date. His only match after that was a 6-second victory over Erick Rowan of The Wyatt Family in an impromptu match at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

Both WrestleMania 28 & 29 drew over 1 million pay-per-view buys.

After their WrestleMania 29 rematch, Cena & Rock exchanged some words in the ring and showed respect to each other, but their exchange wasn’t audible.

Now, 10 years later, WWE has finally revealed what they said to each other. You can read it below:

Cena: “Because of you, I’m serious… you have no idea. I asked for a picture with you and me when I was 20 years old, working in a store in Venice, California. You’ve always been nice… you’ve always been respectful. Whenever we talked, you always told me to keep it up!”

Rock: “I want to tell you, I came back for this very moment right now. For them, for them, and for you. I believe in you.”
