• During the post-SmackDown press conference last night, The Rock revealed that the WrestleMania 42 location was originally scheduled to be revealed at Super Bowl LIX.
Here’s what The Final Boss said:
“We were — and I’ll share this with you. We were going to be part of the Super Bowl and make the announcement at the Super Bowl that we were coming here to New Orleans.
We had a couple of hiccups that we couldn’t make that happen. But in any event, we’re here now and the improvements made to the Dome played a great factor into what we’re doing.”
WrestleMania 42 will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 11 & 12, 2026.
• The Rock returned on last night’s SmackDown, with WWE’s creative team learning about it just days before. He announced WrestleMania 42 will be in New Orleans and set his sights on Cody Rhodes, saying that he wants the WWE Champion’s soul.
WWE planned Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena, and Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins for WrestleMania 41, while keeping in mind that The Rock won’t be available for the event. According to Fightful Select, a top talent joked that WrestleMania 41 is now “at the mercy of Dwayne”.
