The Rock’s recent WWE return has dominated headlines, especially following his appearance at the RAW Netflix debut. However, fresh reports indicate that The Final Boss is advocating for WrestleMania 41 to focus on John Cena, potentially altering the course of his own storyline plans.
According to Billi Bhatti, The Rock has informed WWE that he believes this year’s WrestleMania should primarily highlight Cena. As a result, he’s suggested putting his storyline, including a potential clash with Cody Rhodes, on hold.
“The official reason being given by The Rock to WWE is that he feels this year’s WrestleMania should mainly be John Cena and that he’s willing to wait to pick up his storyline with Cody Rhodes,” Bhatti explained. “This wasn’t 100 percent decided and it’s still not 100 percent decided.”
Despite The Rock’s willingness to delay his involvement, WWE President Nick Khan is reportedly keen to keep him prominently featured at WrestleMania 41. Ideally, this would involve The Rock in a major main event match, possibly against Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns.
Bhatti suggested that while Triple H might be leaning toward alternative plans, the exact reasons behind this potential shift remain unclear.
“The Rock suggested WWE make it more about John Cena and that his storyline could wait, but that isn’t the truth to why we are where we are at,” Bhatti added.
This reported development has sparked speculation among fans. Could The Rock’s deference to Cena indicate a deeper creative strategy, or are backstage dynamics influencing these decisions?
Regardless, the prospect of WrestleMania 41 spotlighting both John Cena and The Rock in significant roles continues to build excitement as the event approaches.
