• The Situation Between MJF & AEW Is A Storyline (Details)

As we all know, MJF no-showed Saturday’s AEW Double Or Nothing Meet & Greet.

There were rumors that he won’t show up for Sunday’s PPV, but he did.

In the opening match of the main PPV show, he lost to Wardlow. Wardlow destroyed him by hitting him with 10 Powerbombs. MJF was taken out on a stretcher.

MJF reportedly showed up minutes before his match and then left immediately after his match.

During the post-PPV media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan was asked to comment on the MJF situation.

Below is what Khan said:

“I’m not going to comment on that. I’ve got a lot of stuff from the pay-per-view that I can comment on, but I’m not going to comment on that.”

According to the Wrestling Observer, this situation is most likely a storyline:

“They have come to an agreement obviously. And, him not showing up (at the Meet & Greet) tells you there’s a work, a story.

If this were real, Tony would have to give him an ultimatum. Like, if you’re not here by 3 o’clock or we’re announcing the match is off. So, him not being there at 4:30, you know he’s gonna be there.

They also have the lineup for the show, the talent. It always had MJF listed as going on first. That did not change at all. So, that tells me him showing up at the last second and then leaving immediately afterwards. This to me, is all storyline.”
