We reported that Ryback repeatedly challenged WCW Legend Bill Goldberg to a match for the latter’s rumored retirement tour.
The former 4-time World Champion plans to do an independent retirement tour, as WWE might not bring him back for an official retirement match.
Goldberg wrestled his last match to date in February 2022, when he unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.
WWE Veteran Dolph Ziggler took to Twitter and jokingly said that he would love to watch Goldberg vs. Ryback.
Here’s what he tweeted:
“Personally, I would LOVE to see Ryback vs Goldberg.
They deserve it.”
While Ziggler (who is friends with both Goldberg & Ryback) is no doubt a great in-ring performer, he never managed to become a big draw or a frequent main eventer, whether he worked as a heel or as a babyface.
Goldberg squashed Dolph easily in a match at the ‘WWE SummerSlam 2019’ pay-per-view.
Ryback recently claimed that a potential match with Goldberg will draw record views on Social Media:
“It will have the best story, be the most viewed match with social media views, and exceed all expectations.
I’ve called him out from the beginning. It’s the one match I’ve always wanted.
Give me an unsanctioned match and give me 1-2 months of media appearances and let me work my magic. There isn’t another human as motivated as me and who could have survived what I have. Now it’s my turn!”
