12. WWE Issues Statement On Data Leak Of Over 3 Million Users From Their Database

Bob Dyachenko from Kromtech (security firm) has revealed that he discovered an unprotected WWE database with personal information of over 3 million users and that anyone who had the URL could search for information.

Another WWE database leak on Amazon’s hosting server was revealed and this one contained name, address and telephone numbers of European WWE subscribers. Below is the statement that WWE issued regarding this:

“Although no credit card or password information was included, and therefore not at risk, WWE is investigating a vulnerability of a database housed on Amazon Web Services (AWS), which has now been secured. WWE utilizes leading cyber security firms Smartronix and Praetorian to manage data infrastructure and cybersecurity and to conduct regular security audits on AWS. We are currently working with Amazon Web Services, Smartronix and Praetorian to ensure the ongoing security of our customer information.”
