Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.
• Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis is set to leave AEW as her contract expires on January 31. Kanellis had previously stated that her deal was initially set to expire on October 31, but Fightful Select later reported that she and AEW agreed to a short extension, pushing the expiration to January. While an official announcement was expected, none was made.
In December, Kanellis revealed that she was cancer-free after doctors discovered a mass on her adrenal gland.
Now, she has confirmed that January 31 will be her final day with the company. Here’s what she tweeted:
“This is my last day with AEW.
Mike still works there. We have kids.
My email for bookings is mariakanellisbookings@gmail.com
I’m in Indianapolis this weekend. I have several appearances over the next several months
I start a Masters Degree Program at University of Illinois in March.”

• Former TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace is trying to shut down speculation that she will appear in the Women’s Royal Rumble 2025 match this Saturday as a surprise entrant.
Grace recently signed a multi-year deal with WWE after finishing up with TNA at Genesis, where she lost to Tessa Blanchard. Since her surprise Royal Rumble appearance last year, she has been on WWE’s radar and even appeared on NXT TV.
After PWInsider reported that Grace will “100% be in Indianapolis” this weekend for the Royal Rumble, Grace tweeted that she will be in Austin, Texas this weekend for her mother’s 50th birthday party, even sharing flight details. While not a direct denial, she is suggesting she won’t be in Indianapolis for the event.
However, that’s not the case. Fightful Select has confirmed that Grace is booked for the Women’s Royal Rumble match, where she will make her official debut as a WWE Superstar.
