• Title Change Plan Still In Place For WrestleMania 39 Despite Injury
WWE is still hoping to make Ronda Rousey champion at WrestleMania 39.
On Friday Night SmackDown, Ronda & Shayna Baszler were scheduled to take on Natalya & Tegan Nox.
However, WWE did an angle where they showed that a brawl broke out earlier in the night between these 4 women, where Ronda hurt her arm.
This tag team match was then changed to Shayna taking on Tegan in a singles match and picking up the win. Ronda’s arm was in a sling when she came out.
PWTorch reported that Ronda’s injury is real and not just a storyline injury. She aggravated an old injury.
According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE Officials are hoping that Ronda will heal in time for WrestleMania and then go on to the Show of Shows to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Shayna:
“She re-aggravated a previous non-serious injury and she should be back soon.
From what I understand, she’s limited and probably will be out and exactly how much she will be recovered by, when she’s wrestling again, is unknown.
But the hope is that they will still win the Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania. That was the original idea. That’s still the hope.”
Lita & Becky Lynch won the Women’s Tag Team Titles by defeating Dakota Kai & IYO SKY on last week’s RAW.
