• TNA Implemented New Rule After WWE Star Arianna Grace’s Match

TNA has made a small but notable rule change following a recent match at the Under Siege event. According to a report from Fightful Select, the change stems from a bout between Tessa Blanchard and NXT’s Arianna Grace (Santino Marella’s daughter). During the match, Blanchard slapped Grace, who responded with a slap of her own. The exchange apparently drew enough attention backstage to prompt action.

The following day, TNA sent out a memo to its roster. It stated that any slaps used in a match must now be approved by an agent beforehand.

While the exact reason for the rule wasn’t made public, Fightful confirmed that the incident during the Blanchard–Grace match was the key factor in the decision.

• CM Punk Pitched WWE’s Most Hated New Idea Years Ago

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE is expected to start putting sponsors on wrestlers’ ring gears soon. This would be similar to how the UFC fighters have sponsors on their gear and how Brock Lesnar used to have sponsors on his ring gear during his early second run with WWE (2012-2013).

According to Fightful Select, CM Punk pitched this idea to WWE many years ago:

“Brock Lesnar was ahead of the curve on this with his Jimmy Johns deal years ago, but even before that, CM Punk had pitched it. However, it will end up being like UFC’s ‘uniform’ deal, where they have an approved sponsor that they keep a bunch of money for.”

When the original report came out, fans criticized the idea on social media.
