During an interview with News 12, AEW President Tony Khan said the following about this upcoming show:

“It’s gonna be really special. You don’t wanna miss this one. If there’s still opportunity for you to come Wednesday night and you’re a wrestling fan around New York, you do not wanna miss this.

It is going to be, I believe, have you guys seen ‘Wayne’s World 2’? This is gonna be like my Waynestock. I’ve been through a lot lately, and we’ve gone through a lot. I’m telling you, it’s gonna come together, this is gonna like Waynestock.

It’s gonna be that one perfect night in New York City this Wednesday night. Expect a lot, and you shall not be disappointed.

I’m gonna do my best to make it a fun night for the fans. I promise I won’t disappoint with it this time. I rarely have, and rarely, rarely, rarely in several hundred shows have I ever, and certainly never intentionally.

This will not be anything, anything, anything, like anything we’ve ever done before. I’m very excited for Grand Slam.”

Tony also teased that he has something big up his sleeve for this episode, when he tweeted the following:

“Surpassed 2021 @AEW Grand Slam gate; now SO close to the FIRST $1 million @AEWonTV gate, after 3 straight PPVs hitting $1 million for the 1st time.

I promise you won’t want to miss Grand Slam, super card + maybe something up my sleeve.”

• Old School Wrestling Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Old School NWA/WWF/WCW Legend “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson (Real name: Marty Lunde) celebrates his 64th birthday today.

Arn became a huge star in NWA Jim Crockett Promotions, where he was a founding member of one of the greatest factions in professional wrestling history, The Four Horsemen.

When Ted Turner bought the promotion, him and fellow Horseman Tully Blanchard left and joined the World Wrestling Federation, where they were known as The Brain Busters.

Arn returned to the NWA promotion, now renamed World Championship Wrestling, in December 1989 and it wasn’t long before he reformed The Four Horsemen again.

In 2012, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by former rival “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARN ANDERSON!
