Below are some top news stories of the day, involving Toni Storm and Bron Breakker.

• “Timeless” Toni Storm lost the AEW Women’s World Championship to Mariah May at All In 2024 at Wembley Stadium. After that, she lost singles matches in STARDOM and CMLL.

She has now announced that she’s leaving pro-wrestling. Here’s what she said during an interview with SB Nation:

“I’m not used to being a loser. I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me.

Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that. AEW is just fine without me. Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm.

Chin down. T*ts in. Don’t bother watching for the shoe.”

During the AEW Full Gear media call, Tony Khan addressed Storm’s comments:

“Timeless Toni Storm has been a great World Champion for AEW. I think reports of her demise have been greatly exaggerated. I still expect Toni Storm will have a great wrestling career, but she’s really struggling, clearly, with what’s happened.

She lost the World Title, she lost her protege. I think she feels like she lost everything and now she’s lost. I hope Toni Storm can find herself and come back to us in AEW because Timeless Toni Storm is a great part of AEW.”

• Bron Breakker continues to impress with his career trajectory. Debuting in NXT during the 2.0 era in 2021, Breakker quickly captured the NXT Championship as a babyface and later transitioned to a heel role during his second reign.

He also held the NXT Tag Team Championship before joining the main roster, where he has already claimed the Intercontinental Championship twice.

Many believe Breakker is destined to become one of WWE’s top stars.

Discussing WWE’s plans for his character, WrestleVotes revealed that WWE is not sticking to the conventional babyface or heel archetype for Breakker. Instead, the company envisions him as more of a “tweener” as he continues to ascend in the ranks:

“Another thing that we’re hearing is some interesting character development notes, as a source within creative has told us the plan for Bron Breakker going forward is to remain somewhat neutral.

As far as heel and babyface tendency go, there seems to be a plan in place, where in the ring, Breakker can portray the heel-ish side, but as a promo, can lean into the crowd as more of a babyface with his signature dog bark that leads to heavy crowd participation.”

Breakker is currently feuding with Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser over his Intercontinental Championship.
