• Tony Khan Reveals Whether He’s Worried About AEW’s Future After Recent Rumors

Tony Khan addressed the growing speculation surrounding a potential sale of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) during the AEW Full Gear post-show media scrum, making it clear that he isn’t concerned about the company’s future even if WBD is acquired by a buyer connected to WWE or UFC.

Reports surfaced that WBD is evaluating strategic options and is effectively up for sale, with major corporations such as Netflix, Paramount, and Comcast having reportedly submitted bids.

Each of those companies would bring unique implications for All Elite Wrestling: Netflix and Comcast currently carry WWE programming, while Paramount is set to begin a rights deal with UFC in 2026. A merger or acquisition involving any of them could theoretically place AEW under the same corporate umbrella as TKO-related content.

When asked whether a potential sale made him worry about AEW’s future, Khan responded confidently. He dismissed any notion of instability and emphasized the strength of AEW’s current relationship with WBD:

“I’m not worried at all. I feel really good. We have a great partnership with Warner Brothers Discovery and are blessed to be on TBS, TNT, and now having the show stream on Max. No, that doesn’t concern me at all. I’m very, very, very, very, very optimistic about the future of AEW and where everything is going.”

• Top AEW Star Is Thinking About Retiring

At the AEW Full Gear 2025 PPV, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) and Josh Alexander defeated Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry & Luchasaurus) in a $1 million trios match.

Don Callis Family attacked Omega after the match. The Young Bucks threw their money bags down and ran to the ring to save Omega. Matt and Nick shook hands with Jack and Luchasaurus. Young Bucks offered a handshake to Omega. Omega slapped their hands and then they hugged it out. Omega raised their hands.

During an interview with CBS Sports, Omega said he’s thinking about retiring:

“There are good and bad days for Kenny Omega. I want to do the best I can. I don’t want people to worry about me. I want to do a performance that I’m proud of, and that my opponent can benefit from… without further endangering myself.

I’ve been thinking a lot about when that timing would be. Another important thing for me is, when I finally do leave, whenever that may be, and this might sound odd, I don’t want people to be sad.

In fact, the best-case scenario for me is that they don’t realize I’m gone at all. I’d love to have the peace of mind that the company has built enough stars so that their star is shining bright enough to distract from me stepping away from the scene. That would make me most happy.”
