Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.
• During an interview with SportsGrid, AEW President Tony Khan said the following about Adam Copeland’s (Edge) run in All Elite Wrestling so far:
“He was the TNT Champion, the face of our other network. He arguably has been on the greatest run of his entire legendary career, which is really saying something because he’s had so many great matches, so many great runs.
What he’s been doing in AEW is some of the best stuff. I’m really proud of that. He was on this amazing run. Unfortunately, he got injured, and he had to vacate the TNT Title, but we’ve had so many great free agents come in just in the past year.”

• Many wrestlers are eager to be part of John Cena’s retirement tour in 2025, including Zack Ryder, CM Punk, The Miz, and Rob Van Dam.
On his “1 Of A Kind With RVD” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam discussed the possibility of facing Cena again, reminiscing about their memorable main event at ECW One Night Stand 2006.
RVD expressed his enthusiasm for a potential rematch: “I hope they bring me in for a rematch with Cena. That would be super cool. I don’t know if they know, but I know I could have that same match, absolutely.”
Reflecting on their 2006 match, Van Dam praised Cena’s ability to handle the hostile crowd at the Hammerstein Ballroom, noting, “He was able to pull the strings with the crowd and he knew going out there that he was going to be up against a crowd that hated him… he handled it great, and I enjoyed working with him. And also he was very, very snug.”
Rob Van Dam last competed in WWE in 2014.
